Download YouTube video
Many times after watching a video from YouTube we feel like downloading that video. Good news, video is already there in your system, no need to use any online service or software. All you have to do is find the exact location on your system where the video is located. Actually whenever you watch a video online your browser first stores that video in your system and plays the video from that location. Let me show how to get a YouTube video for offline watching.
ü Open YouTube video in Google Chrome Browser and let the full video play.
ü Now you video is on your system, Google Chrome stores video in a temporary file location of which varies from OS (Operating System) to OS. I am listing few OS and corresponding location where you might find the video. Location may vary based on Chrome installation.
ü Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache
ü Windows Vista: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google \Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache
ü Windows 7 : C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google \Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache
ü Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default
ü Linux Fedora : /home/<username>/.cache/google-chrome/Default/Cache
ü AppData is a hidden folder, to see this folder go to tools -> Folder Options -> View tab -> and check show hidden files. <username> is your system’s username.
ü Now we know the file location, all we have to do is locate exact file because while storing video, chrome provides an encrypted name to the file. To get the exact file you will have to guess it by file size of by last modification time e.t.c. I am attaching few screenshots, which will show how I downloaded a YouTube video in my Fedora Operating System.
ü Played the video in chrome which I wanted to download.

§ Went to the location where Chrome has stored the video locally.

§ Following was last few files in folder, one of them was my video.

§ Now I played few files and got my desired video.
